2019 Richard A. “Dick” Edwards, a former Special Agent of the FBI, joined the staff of ResultQuest as Director of International Operations. He brings more than forty years of federal law enforcement and international security and investigations to our team.
2018 In January, ResultQuest celebrated its milestone 30th anniversary of continuous operations.
2017 At the TALI South Texas Mid-Winter Seminar in February, J.R. Skaggs presented the course, “Ethics: Integrity in Operations and Communications,” which is approved for credit toward ethics education requirements of Texas licensed investigators.
2016 An article by J.R. Skaggs entitled “Contingency Planning in Vehicular Surveillance” was published in the Summer 2016 edition of The Texas Investigator magazine.
2016 J.R. Skaggs was appointed as the director of the Texas Certified Investigator testing program, administered by the Texas Association of Licensed Investigators (TALI).
2016 ResultQuest received accreditation from the State Bar of Texas for a one-hour course entitled “Ways to Ensure That Your Investigation Adds Value to Your Case,” enabling attorney attendees to qualify for Continuing Legal Education credit.
2015 J.R. Skaggs successfully completed the requirements to be awarded the Board Accredited Investigator (BAI) designation, thereby joining an elite group of experts who meet and maintain the highest standards of the investigative profession.
2015 J.R. Skaggs earned the designation Texas Certified Investigator (TCI), becoming one of only 34 individuals holding this prestigious designation, having demonstrated a high level of expertise and competence through a rigorous examination process.
2015 Skaggs & Associates, Inc. became ResultQuest, an investigations and security consulting company with a primary thrust toward employment law firms, business attorneys, and corporate general counsel. The firm relocated to its new location at 10315 Lakewood Drive in the Spring/The Woodlands area, one of the fastest growing regions in the country.
2014 J.R. Skaggs was selected by the Professional Development Institute of the University of North Texas to instruct a class in the private investigative techniques of surveillance and undercover operations.
2014 John Beard, CPA, joined the firm as senior fraud examiner. He brings over forty years of experience in forensic accounting and internal auditing for major corporations in heading the firm’s financial investigations.
2012 The firm’s global reach was enhanced when J.R. Skaggs was inducted into the International Intelligence Network (Intellenet), an international association of investigators that provides members with access to specialized training and experts in a wide array of investigative fields.
2010 The firm augmented its Investigations Company license with the newly designated Texas licensure as a Security Consultant Company.
2009 Jim Binford joined the firm as senior investigator and liaison to law enforcement agencies. Jim brings his thirty-three years of experience as a police detective in heading the firm’s major crimes investigations.
2006 Sam Castorani joined the firm, bringing with him more than forty years of military and private sector experience in surveillance and counter-surveillance, as well as expertise in security planning and implementation.
2002 The firm entered into an ongoing alliance with Colvin Hayes & Associates of Auburn, Alabama to conduct extensive mortgage fraud investigations in the Houston, Austin, and Dallas markets. The resultant probes have saved a major mortgage insurer millions of dollars in claims.
2000 J.R. Skaggs was selected by lead firm Kroll Associates of New York as a member of the interview team investigating the tragic collapse of the football bonfire structure that resulted in the deaths of twelve volunteer workers on the campus of Texas A&M University.
2000 J.R. Skaggs underwent specialized training and was awarded newly designated Texas licensure as a Personal Protection Officer, providing the ability to offer clients the added service of an armed private bodyguard.
1999 The firm established Hermes Group, a subsidiary dedicated to information acquisition and project facilitation in Latin America.
1997 The firm was selected to participate in a three-year project to provide security to executives of a Houston area refinery that was involved in a protracted labor dispute. Observations and evidence from the firm’s attentive operatives enabled the refinery to obtain numerous favorable rulings from the National Labor Relations Board.
1997 J.R. Skaggs attained certification and Texas licensure as a Security Consultant, having conducted extensive vulnerability assessment surveys in Texas and Mexico.
1992 The firm located to its longtime offices at 7500 San Felipe, Suite 600, Houston Texas 77063.
1989 The firm was selected to participate in a six-month investigation conducted in the wake of the crash of the Alaska housing market. The resultant findings enabled the client to deny coverage in mortgage insurance claims totaling about $30 million.
1988 Skaggs & Associates, Inc. was founded in Houston by J.R. Skaggs and licensed as an Investigations Company by the State of Texas. The firm is, and will remain, dedicated to the guiding principles of professionalism, discretion, and a high quality work product.
